Artistic Statement.

I am a Mexican dancer, choreographer and movement researcher, who aims to question and explore social constructs and how they play a role in individual and interpersonal relationships. I find inspiration through writing and texts, which always play part in my choreographic research, whether as inspiration or as part of the movement. My movement language fuses different dance genres, artforms, and aesthetics I have trained in over the years such as contemporary, modern, street styles, acting, musical theatre, and heels dance. My aim is to create my own unique movement vocabulary that transcends the boundaries of contemporary dance, one that feels authentic to my essence. As an artist, I continue to discover the extreme importance of communication during choreographic processes. Beyond exploration, my goal as a creator is to provide a space where people can express themselves and share their voice in diverse ways.

OJALÁ…

Ojalá… (meaning “hopefully” in Spanish) dives into the risks taken in personal connections by exploring how bodies connect, how people cope with betrayal and the individual's search for healing. When someone who loves you deeply also hurts you deeply, two contradicting truths begin to coexist: love and betrayal. Can both old and new realities live simultaneously? How does the body react after living through two juxtaposing experiences?
